Le Tour de France on Les Champs Élysées...

Well well well... Next time ... I'll watch it on T.V. real cool to be there but man oh man ... I waited almost three hours to see very little - but real nice since they go by 7 times.

A once in a lifetime experience - maybe twice... I like crowds. Needless to say - I never saw so many Nikon DSLR... Very few Canon consumer DSLR but thousands of Nikon with all kinds of lenses, Tamron, Sigma, Tokina, one guy had a D3 and a Sigma on it... A few D300 with 28-70/2.8

Inspector Clouseau was there...

And a few more pictures from today...

Great photos. In the last photo near the very front you can see the hint of the yellow jersey. Awesome. As usual; your work is stunning.

Thanks for the memories. I was there about 10 years ago. I agree one has to wait hours for the riders to go past, the streets are so crowded, it is difficult to get to the front of the barriers.

It is a great spectical event. It's incredible how fit those guys are, definitely an amazing parade in a stunning location.

Thank you Roger (Hi Cyn!) - we should be back in Toronto in September.

You are most welcomed - It was fun and interesting and yes those guys are fit but they will look funny by the pool side when they take those jerseys off... Tanned legs, tanned arms and face, white shoulders and torso as well as very white feet

When I was in Paris for the last stage of the TDF about 10 or so years ago, I took this amazing photograph. A local bike shop blew it up to post on their walls, they liked it that much.
I gave the negative to a friend, he never gave it back, said his baby chewed it up
It was a photo showing the unmistakable arched cobble stones-crystal clear, and a blur of highly coloured riders and their bikes wizzing past. I wish I had that photo. Anyway, thanks man, for taking me back to Paris, it was an experience I'll never forget.

excellent photos. i was in Paris for the TDF in 2004 and watched last year's opening stage in London. Next season I am thinking of training for the Etape!
It is hard to take good pictures of fast moving cyclists which makes your photos all the more impressive.
Thanks for sharing.
