Tt datejust jubilee tapestry dial
Hey guys, I'm currently shopping around for a 36mm TT DJ and have a few questions for my fellow enthusiasts.
1) Were the tapestry dials ever made for the 116233 model or only for the 16233 model? 2) Do you guys think Champagne index tapestry or silver index tapestry dial are better looking? I want the 116233 model because of the solid bracelet that doesn't cause stretch over the years but it looks like all I could find is the silver index tapestry on the 116233. I'm not even sure if the silver index on the 116233 is an original combination or if it was taken from the 16233 and placed onto the 116233. I'm leaning towards the silver tapestry. Photos from google images attached: Thanks for your input guys! |

i think they had finished by the 116233, the dial will fit off a 16233 if your really want this look but not be truly correct for a 116233

After researching further, it looks like the first models of 116233 in 2004-2005 shortly had this tapestry dial available in a limited matter.

I like the silver better personally. I don't know which models they were available on though.

The silver tapestry isn't as nice in a TT DJ as the gold to my eye. The dials did not carry over to the 116233 as a stocking combination sadly. Not sure why not. By "stocking" I mean the standard configurations Rolex routinely shipped ADs.
But it is possible that Rolex was still fulfilling orders in the pipeline for 16233's that had been ordered with the tapestry dial.

Well, we were looking at the 116233 champagne dial thinking for sure this would be it. After trying it on and comparing with silver we changed our mind to silver 100%... The two tone combo matches really well with silver dial. Good luck!

I have the black tt. I like it but don't wear it often enough.
