Icon6 Will Tudor release a new GMT?

Will Tudor release a new GMT?

I would like one. (Would anyone else in here be interested?) Wishlist:

- Like the Rolex 6542 that had lume on the bezel, they could do a 24 lume bezel. So that you could use the GMT functions in the dark. They already did lume on the bezel on the Pelagos.
- 70 hour reserve like on the Black Bay
- A design that draws on older Rolex GMT models (6542)

A last question: Will Rolex update their GMT models to have a movement based on their new generation movement so that the Rolex GMT will have a 70 hour reserve?

Thank you for responding.

2) Has Rolex confirmed that the GMT will use a new movement? Or are you just assuming that it will inevitably happen? I suppose that it is safe to say that they won't be using the same movement as today 50 years from now :)

It's doubtful they're reserving their new base movement for just the DD40. The 3135 is getting on a bit now. Rolex does everything at snails pace though and the new Yachtmaster doesn't seem to mind.

i dont think anyone would know the answers, no one will know what Rolex and Tudor are up to. But yes, I totally agree, Tudor's line up needs a GMT, and I would love a Tudor GMT as well. Definitely agree with the lumed 24hour bezel, that would be incredible (I own blue Pelagos).

I'm guessing if Rolex were to update movements (a major update), it would be with the introduction of a new model. But eagle-eye fans have spotted a while ago that Rolex submitted a patent application for a GMT/world-time/sort of movement, where the date can be adjusted by the bezel / pushers or something, I remember seeing a the patent diagram posted here on the forums a while back. Who knows - maybe they'll release it under the Rolex brand or the Tudor brand. The patent was put in in 2014, so I think 3 years after patent application is a reasonable time to make the official release....

I would instantly buy a pelagos gmt like this but it does not make sense thematically to have a tudor gmt in such a robust dive watch case.

I also posted this exact same thread a few months ago:

There was rumor/speculation about Tudor releasing a GMT dive watch at the beginning of this year. But nobody knows if Tudor is going to launch one.

I think Rolex will upgrade all movement to 70hr eventually. In fact, 3235 and 3255 both have 70 hr power reserve already. But don't know how long it takes for Rolex to migrate all models to new movements. Personally, I think the process will be slow.

(**I'm hoping/waiting Rolex to upgrade SD4000 to new movement with 70 hr power reserve. I hope it'll be next year, 50th anniversary of SD).

The Pearlmaster and DJ41 both have the new movements in addition to the DD40.

Submariner line is still using the 3135 (expected to be upgraded to 3235) and there're no new movements for GMT and Daytona yet.....
