Insurance for Rolex

Any recommendations for a good insurance policy on a new Rolex? It would be appreciated. Thank you.

Guess that depends on what kind of coverage you need.

I have my watches on my homeowners insurance.

Insurance for Rolex

Jewelers mutual is popular.

I have a separate jewelry policy through my home insurance. I keep it separate as god forbid I had to file a claim I don't want it dinging my home owners insurance.

Either way it will be cheap. I have my Sub C and my wife's jewelry insured and I think the coverage is like 25k and I pay like 180 a year. Well worth it. I think jewelers mutual is about the same price.

My watches and wife's jewelry are covered on a rider on my homeowner policy. They are covered at replacement value.

I utilize CHUBB for all my insurance needs. They have been great. The only appraisal they have needed are for items over 100k.

Concur. I learned a lot! I was playing fast and loose for a couple years and didn't know it.

I don't insure my watches, I have homeowner's insurance.

BUY A SAFE. You can get a good one for under $500 and have them bolt it to the floor somewhere indiscreet.

The question is, insure it from what? Do you expect to lose it or get robbed?
Or break it?

*I never take mine off and I go straight from wrist to safe and safe to wrist. It's "safer" that way

This. Just keep in mind that they provide replacement insurance only.

Yeah, those are pretty much the three reasons I insure mine. It gives me complete peace of mind in being able to wear them during any activity or in any environment. I've been carjacked before, and I know plenty of people who've been robbed, no matter how statistically insignificant it is, so I may as well make my watch dispensable. If a bracelet pin breaks in the ocean, who cares? If I give it to a robber, who cares? If I smash it on something, who cares? Etc.

Personal articles policy through State Farm, insured at retail replacement value-in other words, if my 16610 is lost/stolen, I'm paid at the cost of the current version of that piece-$8550-less whatever my deductible is set at.

Let's say your watch gets lost somehow. You choose an AD or other dealer of your choice and JM sends them the money. The dealer then sends you the watch. The insured receives no money from JM.

You can also do a search here of stolen watches from people with the same mind set as you. If your willing to take the risk then go for it. Thats why I have Insurance on most everything I own thats valuable.
