5713 running 4 to 5 seconds fast per day
I've had my 5712 nearly a year. Over the past couple of weeks I've monitored accuracy of the timepiece. It seems like it's running 4 to 5 seconds fast per day. As I go into my last year of Factory Warranty, should I consider getting this corrected before warranty is expired? Thanks

I would if it is bothering you. Does it do this on the days you are wearing it or when it is on a winder?

It could be magnetized, which is a quick fix. If you happen to be in NYC, I recommend stopping into HSWA and have them do a quick diagnostic. If it's magnetized, they can fix that while you wait.

It does run fast when I'm wearing it. But to be honest, my Daytona seems to be about 4 seconds fast as well.

I would definitely go have it regulated.

Yeah might as well have it regulated before warranty is out. HOwever, if its gonna be a long wait for some reason - not worth it

My 15 month old 5140R has been 5 seconds slow a day mostly in the winder (hard to tell without a second hand, and you need use the same minute dot for timing, because they are not all uniform -- a bit of a disappointment), but my AD told me not to wait until near the end of the warranty, so I had my dealer send it in to the Stern agency about six weeks ago, fully expecting to see it around Christmas. Surprise! It came back late last week (about a month and a half turn-around). My dealer says Stern tries to expedite warranty work, so not bad at all, compared to the horror stories I hear. Now the question is whether it will be within PP Seal specs. Too soon for me to tell, but I'll check in a week or so. My less than year old 5960/A, however, has been running only a half second a day slow (and I keep the chrono running) since I bought it.

I'd bring it in to an AD to be checked on by their watchmaker at a minimum, but probably even just send it in to service.
