Subc 114060 for a Ploprof 1200
Hi, been thinking this over, would you guy trade a Subc (mint)plus $1000 Cdn for a mint mint condition Omega Ploprof 1200, just can't get the prof out of my head. My head says no, but the heat says yes. Help a fellow out please!

Trade a classic, super versitile diver that goes well with anything from jeans and a T-shirt to a suit, for a niche watch that looks awkward paired with anything but a wet suit and flippers??? This is madness...

I am just one opinion, and maybe slightly ignorant to this watches charm (which other then specs, I just don't understand). If the ploprof is your thing and you believe you'll be happy with it, then it is a good decision despite my rant or anyone else's opinion. But... In a world of hypotheticals, I'd rather pay 7k+ for a 114060 then receive a free ploprof. Aesthetics is just one of many considerations in luxury mechanical watches - however this watch IMO is so unappealing, I wouldn't even want it if Omega paid me to wear it. Also, I love the SubC. So I am bias :) Stick with the classic! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Depends how many watches you have. I love the Ploprof, but it is not a daily wearer. That being said, the subs are everywhere. That's not disparaging the model at all... I love it, but compared to a mint 1200, the sub is common.
How mint is the ploprof? What accessories? Ploprofs, generally, were beat to hell because of their size and intended use. So, a truly mint example is valuable. What has been replaced? What band is it on? From a strict dollars and cents perspective, it could make sense depending on the answers to these questions. Have you worn the ploprof for a day? If you haven't, do not buy it until you do. It's an acquired feel. |

This is a tough one! I totally get the appeal of the PloProf but can't suggest making that trade. With the versatility issues mentioned above you could later regret it for that reason alone. If you've got other watches then maybe but as a one and only watch, never for me.

I wouldn't. The 114060 is my favorite modern sub

One is cool piece, but is in no way a daily driver. The Sub ND is a versatile, do anything watch. If this is part of a collection, maybe. I had the Ploprof and while it was really unique, it just was not something I would wear regularly and thus moved it.

If you already have another Sub or SD, then I say do it. But probably not for $1k CDN out of pocket,
otherwise, keep the Sub. Its really a do-it-all watch from the boardroom to short and flip flop.

The 114060 is worth more, so if you do trade, DO NOT ADD MONEY. If anything, they should be adding money.

Thanks all for all the suggestions. Yes this is my only sub, which I love, the Ploprof is a lnib 2015 with box(the wooden one) with all cards and book on mesh. I will not trade as I know I will regret it, thanks all!

I love this watch for all the reasons most people don't like it.
It is simply stunning and goes great with anything, except a suit, that I wear. Enjoy the craziness of it if you want. It fits in nice with my rotation and if I feel like wearing something smaller, I put on the DEEP SEA....
