Audemars 15710 & Vacheron Overseas Chronograph LE Trade

Hello,

Wanted some opinions. Would you guys trade a less than year old 15710 diver and less than 6 month old VC Overseas Limited edition Chrono straight up for an AP Royal Oak Tribute to Italy chrono?

A bit torn here....

Thanks for the input!

Haven't seen it in the metal but the Italy looks a fantastic piece to me it looks like a oak offshore crossover.

Both of those are obv great pieces - are they not getting wrist time and aren't they worth more than the RO you are considering for the trade?

I wouldn't but the trade value sounds about as expected. The VC is very similar to the tribute to Italy. Not bonding with the VC?

I'll admit I dig the dial on the tribute to Italy but I think you're giving up two great pieces to get there and I don't love it enough to do so

I love the Tribute to Italy, in fact it's my favorite ROC, but I would keep the Diver and the VC. I like variety, and the Diver and the Overseas are both awesome watches.

I would not do the trade.

The 26326ST is a fantastic piece! Is it new? I would do the trade but you should walk away with a little cash in your pocket even if it's brand new. Negotiate or otherwise sell your pieces for cash and buy the piece.

Trade valuation looks about right. I personally wouldn't do it. I love the Tribute to Italy, but not worth trading in what you have for it.

Are you Italian? If not I don't see the lure, and AP's limited edition seldom do well in keeping their worth.

Thanks for the feedback. I had similar thoughts. Love the look of that AP but feel like I am giving up a lot for it. Not Italian just like the look of the watch.

I would do it. I love the tribute to Italy. You are sort of giving the beautiful VC away, but such is life.

You would have to source a bracelet also to be in grail territory, as the OP in the thread below says:

Having just Googled the tribute to italy ROO, I'd trade it

I'm a fan of the Overseas, but not of the overseas chrono. And other posters are right, this is one of the best looking offshores i've seen

Just for the record, it's not an Offshore.

OP, I love the watch too, but you're not getting a good deal trade value wise for your pieces. The RO doesn't seem to sell well and can be had for close to 20k from what I've seen. Your 2 are pieces clearly worth much more than that.

I think the problem is that nobody is going to give you anywhere near market value on a VC because they take forever to move.

Good luck convincing people on here they need an overseas on strap preowned for the price of a bnib Royal oak on bracelet or a lnib AP diver etc

"Market value" is what someone will pay you for it. If people don't pay your asking price, then you're above market value.

The ROC Italy is just stunning. Add a bracelet and it's over the moon.

BUT - anytime trading 2:1 I generally say no. Just too much to regret.

Yes, I should add I'd have to get it on the bracelet even if it costs a fair bit more.

AP 26326 – compare that to the asking price of your trade.
Remember, you’ll be expecting most of those in the EU to be sold without included VAT, so divide by 1.2 – if new, not pre-owned.

For me, I’d sell the 15710 and just put the extra towards the pre-owned one from Pacific.

It’s not an Offshore, it’s just a ROC.

trade

Its not just a roc. THe royal oak chronos sell for more than the offshore chronos. I happen to love the italy and would trade my diver for it, but I dont have a second watch to add. The 41mm roc chronos are beautiful, wear like a slightly larger daytona, much thinner than a roo, but similar size. Much less water resistance.

MSRP of the ROOs start at $26K, ROCs are $24.3K, at least according to Swissluxury.com.

Sell whatever you have to in order to acquire this piece on bracelet.

Kids, cars, watches etc.
