should i send in for b1 water test
Thank you in advance for the answers, I just picked up a ROO 44 SS, and its almost out of 3rd year warranty, should I bother sending it in for the b1 service, it has never been done, or just keep wearing it until an issue pops up. APSC had my diver back in about 4 weeks when sent in for the b1, but not sure if I need to do it with the 44. Hate to lose it for a month or longer.

I believe you no longer have to send it in. You have to create a profile on AP's website and register the watch under your profile. Once you do this the 3rd year is automatically activated

my thought was if the oil is dried up early, which seems to be something that has been noted on the H series, AP would fix it, and then I would have an additional 2 year warranty.

Why would you have an additional two years warranty?
If AP repair/service an item whilst in warranty, the warranty continues as normal. They may extend it by one year, as an offer of goodwill, to offset your disappointment. If you pay for a service/repair, then you get the two years service warranty. |

But I think b1 is just pressure test so I don't think they are going to give the entire watch a once over if there is nothing reported as wrong with it. You would have to send it in with a problem or alleged problem before they would go beyond the superficial b1. |

I was curious as to what Audemars does, that might be different from the nor – so I spoke with LV Boutique’s director (Ceezal - phonetic spelling, if not correct). He explained that a warranty repaired watch continues with it’s original warranty on the rest of the parts, but those which were replaced/serviced, have a fresh 2 year warranty – so not the whole watch. For example, lets say the datewheel needs replaced, due to scraping, and associated gear train, on a 22 month old 15400. When returned, the watch as a whole, will still have another 14 months of original warranty left to run, but the parts and associated servicing (whole movement cleaned and re-lubed) will have 2 years. If the keyless or crown stem had an issue 18 months later, then you’d be outside the original warranty, and because they weren’t part of the fix, they aren’t covered by the warranty repair work done. Of course, in this scenario, goodwill is potentially likely, if you express your disappointment enough, but that’s all it would be, as opposed to an entitlement. My point is, you need to carefully understand what’s warrantied and for how long, since we don’t want others reading this to be under a false impression that their AP could have an effective 5 year warranty. That said, Ceezal did mention that boutiques offer 5 years on their sales, but the last 2 are out of their pocket/budget, if a repair or service is required. |

Maybe someone else can chime in on this... Wouldn't make sense for only part of a watch to be covered and part not.

AP extends the warranty (all of it) for another two years. Or at least that is what they did on mine.

I’ll try to speak with APSC London, to see if things can be clarified any further.
To be fair to Ceezal, he did mention “on a case by case basis”, but that doesn’t particularly help potential newcomers to the brand, regarding what to expect, etc. If anything, it’s uncertainties that puts buyers off from taking the plunge with a new brand (to them), especially given the amount of money concerned. |

Spoke with APSC, and they stated that in at least 90% of cases, they’ll warranty the whole watch, since the movement will be disassembled and rebuilt – so theoretically, someone could end up having a 5 year warranty after all.
