You're still a bit confused, my man. At that point it's called an urn.

Nah, not confused. We already established earlier I'm just not an intelligent person

I nearly got flamed to death over this issue once, but I guess I'll venture forth once more.

The proper term is shipping casket, not coffin.

Of course, shipping coffin sounds stupid, unless you're shipping bodies.

Note the definition of the term casket:
Full Definition of casket

1
: a small chest or box (as for jewels)

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/casket
Over the last century or so the funeral industry has convinced much of the public that their deceased loved ones deserve to be buried in jewel boxes, rather than stuffy old coffins, thus the confusion in people's minds and the expansion of the definition of casket as a fancy coffin.
2
: a usually fancy coffin

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/casket
So, to reiterate, the proper term is shipping casket.

Let the flames begin.

I now see that others have addressed this issue before me and for that they have my thanks.

Yeah that's true, too. You do realise, though, that you have suggested that there are a lot of unintelligent people here on the forum with your previous post.

I too have seen many people on the forum refer to the plastic shipping containers as coffins.

I've always thought (perhaps incorrectly) of 'coffin' as referring to the traditional, six-sided burial box, while 'casket' principally refers to the rectangular interment box more commonly seen nowadays.

Watch-wise, I've never really thought of them as anything but 'little plastic boxes'.

Perhaps a poor choice of words. I see how someone could make the mistake.

You got it! However, that's the beauty of an open forum, isn't it? Ones we like, we read and discuss. Ones we are not interested in, we move on. There are plenty that I don't bother reading, for instance the never ending wrist shots and incomings. I find those ridiculous but that's just me.
