Date change

When does your Rolex click the date wheel?

My 16710 is surprisingly 1 min and 37 secs. past midnight. And the 1680 Red Sub is 11 min pre midnight.

Disclaimer: Padi will say it doesn't matter That is OK I have no problem with that Really Even not the missing use of full stop

Honest answer, I have never watched it. It changes very close when I set my watches but I never think of it if I happen to be awake at midnight.

When I first got it I was curious so I set it to 11:55 PM and waited for it. It flipped at about 12:02. Can't imagine a situation where that level of tardiness would ever pose a problem.

As I sit here with bleary eyes at 6:15am, I waited until my date changed on my BLNR last night. It flipped at exactly 12:04 am

Doesn't matter to him because he's asleep before midnight.

Agree mate but whats more important is when I wake up and see its changed it proves I am still alive, now thats far more important would you not agree.

It's all a matter of how accurately the watchmaker sets the hands. Mine vary a few mins either side.

My current DSSD used to change at 20 seconds past midnight.
It was the worst of all my Rolex watches I've had which were all changing between midnight and 5 seconds past.

Now the DSSD has been serviced, it changes at about 2 minutes to midnight.

I have not looked for years for the date change. But for sure, before 0535 when I get up.

Some nights my BLNR changes at 12:02 and other nights changes at 12:04. Anyone else notice a similar variation?

Every rolex I have owned (all 6 digit models) have changed between 12:01 and 12:04. Pateks have been around +3 mins to that range and APs have been as much as +10 mins.

Funnily enough, I only watched my Explorer II 42mm Polar on Friday night having owned the watch for over 2.5 years. It changed over at 12.09:30 which surprised me a bit. The watch is my most accurate and for some reason expected it to change over at bang on midnight.

It's not that at all. It's that we've debated this a million times

It's a mechanical watch - The mechanics change every 24 hours - like clockwork. The hands are simply stuck on the posts to give you a close representation of what the movement is doing, and nobody can stick them on so a watch will click over at an "exact" point in time.

Mines at 11:46pm. After servicing. I'm annoyed by it but not enough to send it back.
