With that dial colour, the RG of both the case and bracelet overpower it and dominate the watch.
If they’d offered the grey with the RG, then the contrast would be completely different, and would probably work better. On that basis, the dark colour of the strap gives equal prominence to both the case and dial. |

Having both gives options. In fact you might choose to have a few different colored leather straps such as one being black and the other brown/tan. :)

Dress watch looks better with leather strap. More refined imo.

i think there is kind and a place for a bracelet. Rolex for example its a watch that imho demands a bracelet. Patek has a sport line that you can go crazy with bracelets and/or rubber. But when you have a complicated watch with a bracelet i feel that you are kind of transforming the idea of a classy complicated watch to sport watch.
I am not saying it looks bad, actually its kind of cool but I wouldn't be willing to give up that Patek aura for it. hope it make sense cheers

I think it looks great on the strap, the bracelet would be a little too loud for me but it still looks really nice either way.

I think Patek needs to work harder at making a better looking bracelet. It looks like an afterthought compared to everything else it does.

Looking at the OP's photos, the one showing it on a strap, certainly focus's the attention on the watch itself. Besides, after years of wearing PM bracelets, I now prefer straps, the thought, that everytime I catch the bracelet on a desk or similar, may result in marking it leaves me anxious.

Had the very same watch on a strap and traded it for the rose gold bracelet. It just suited my lifestyle a little more. I am too tuff on leather; be it sweating too much or wear.

How much extra do you pay for the bracelet?

Right, so I figure the bracelet would have to be a clear winner for that price, but trying them both on, they are both extraordinary. I didn't find one option to be better, which kind of throws it more to the strap, I'm thinking (which I treat with a natural leather protector to add a little resistance to humidity).

This the only dress watch that I like on bracelet , and I think the reason is because the bracelet doesn't outcast the watch instead complements it . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Stunning in either configuration.
Have you considered the fact you could buy many different coloured straps from Camille Fournet and save a fortune. But don't forget the eventual cost of bracelet repair/ replacement when the gold links stretch and scratch which could be more than the residual value of the watch in future. Then you end up putting it on a strap and have a bracelet in a box...unless you melt it down for some nice jewellery which may not be as ridiculous as it sounds when the time comes. |

The several straps idea is a good one! I may do just that.
The issue with bracelet stretch is a serious one. I have a Breguet on a gold bracelet and Breguet's idea was to make a bracelet that will stretch but can't be repaired. So, selling it for scrap is literally on the table. Remember that the next time anyone mentions Breguet as a high-end watch brand (and I'm a fan of Breguet, too). Here, at least, the bracelet could be repaired, hopefully. I assume. |

I remember when buying my first Rolex Day Date on a president bracelet. At the time it was my grail watch and had been for many years.
The actual watch was several years old and cost me £6,000 when I curiously asked how much it would cost to replace the bracelet they said about the same. I vowed from that point to make sure that I took care of it. That was about 13 years ago, so I have no idea how much they would be now.

Well, definitely don't let yourself wear it in a way that applies pressure to the links (imagine doing push-ups, for example, the bent wrists will push strongly against the bracelet if it is down by your wrist).
