Cleaning president bracelet
Hi I am looking for suggestions on how to clean my dads daydate. I have tried a variety of things to get it clean like getting it steam cleaned from an AD, rubbing alcohol, mineral spirits, and even kerosine. As you can see in the picture I am trying to clean between the links and nothing seems to get it clean. I am open to any suggestions on what I can do.
Thanks |

Have you not heard of ultra sonic? You need a ultra sonic machine though. Even RSC uses a ultra sonic cleaner. Just go and a cheap one. Clean other jewelry and metal as well.

Send it to Michael Young for a freshening, he'll even tighten the links while he has it.

Toothbrush, soapy water, and towel. Does the trick for me.

i'd suggest removing the bracelet from the watch head then soaking the bracelet in hot water diluted with soap.. then later using q tips dipped in alcohol to scrub away the dirt..

Keep it in warm soapy water, use VERAET spray to rinse off.

Yep! I use a silicone infant toothbrush to clean polished watches. It won't get in between to all of the inside/side center links, but it will help especially in combo with the warm soapy water, veraet method.

I know my dad has taken the watch to an independent watchmaker to get it serviced but as far as I know he hasn't taken it to a RSC
thanks for all the suggestions but I have tried everything you guys have mentioned and I even tried scraping it with my finger nail and it still won't come off and that was after soaking it in kerosine for about 15 minutes. |
