Replaced a link...

I recently got an extra link for my 16710.... I put it on last week..and tightened it down as far as I could...

Last night...on the way back from a Yosemite weekend....I felt something sticking into my wrist....thought it was a strange bug...but it was the screw..almost backed all the way out.

Luckily...I didn't loose it, and was able to put it back....but........now I'm worried it will happen again in less than ideal areas...like the water!

I've heard talk about adding loctite to the ends of the screws..but I've tried getting screws out before with loctite...and its a Bitch!!

What do you guys use to secure your link screws!!

There are different strengths of Loctite. Don't know the best for watch links but I'm sure someone will inform us both.
Glad you caught it in time.

I use 222 Loctite with is more of an anti-vibration compound than a threadlock.

Loctite 221 is designed for watchmakers and those pesky little screws..

However, I suspect that you just didn't have it tight enough..

Whoops! I defer. I've never heard of 221, and wouldn't know where to get it. Can you list a source, please?

Goosebumps

Boy, everytime I hear that kind of story makes me checking my watch several times a day for loose screws. It's scary and hope it'll never happen!
