Thoughts on Nautilus 3800?

I was hoping to get your thoughts on the 3800. I am absolutely mesmerized by the look of the Nautilus. Nautilus is without a doubt a timepiece I would love to own.

I was wondering what people's thoughts were on how it would look on a 6.5 inch wrist? I have never had a chance to try one on in person and due to its asymmetric design I have trouble comparing it to other watches. For example I find that the 34 inch Air King wears too small on my wrist, while I am fine with my 36 inch Tudor Day Date.

Any opinions (or even pics) would be much appreciated.

At 6.5" the 5711 would fit you fine IMO. Your 15300 I see listed should wear bigger because the lugs on the AP case will wear larger

My wrist is 6.5 inches and the 5711 size is perfect and the most comfortable watch I have owned, including the 5167a

Are you specifically after the 3800? Or are you just concerned that the 5711 would be too big for you?

Considering the large price difference between the 5711 and 3800, I was wondering if I could get away with getting the 3800 given it's small size. But if the 3800 wears comparably to say an Air King than I'm pretty sure that'd be too small.

7" wrist here

Had a 5711 and felt it was too big, so I got rid of it and found a 3800, but I've always preferred mid-sized cases.

I think you have to try a 5711 and a 3800 yourself first to make a decision though,

I think the 3800 and 5800 are about the same size. This pic is my 6.5" wrist wearing the 5800 -- too small in general I think. The 5711 fits me just about perfectly.

I have a 5712, and 6.9 wrist, couldn't imagine wearing smaller, I had and still have smaller watches, but they were purchased 20-25 years ago and are too small IMO, unless if you have very small wrists or have a clear preference for small watches better get a 5711...

I would try to find a 3800 that is available to try on your wrist at a pre-owned watch store. You can do research online and get other people's opinions, but nothing like trying on a watch for yourself and making your own decision. I don't know if Canada has large pre-owned watch stores, but there are stores in the US that should have a 3800.

+1 very true, you've got to try it for yourself. It's not always the size of your wrist but also the shape of it which could mean the 3800 is or isn't suitable.

Swing by my neck of the woods and I'll let you try on the 5711 to see if you like the size. Whiskeys on you!

Thanks everyone for sharing your opinion. I agree that the absolute best way would be to compare the 3800 and the 5711 by trying them out in real life. Unfortunately that's not as easy to do as I would like. You're comments and pics help.

Thanks for the pic. It does look a bit smaller than I would probably be comfortable with. And that's the 5800 which is 1 mm larger than the 3800.

Thanks Tan. I would love to take you up on the offer next time I'm in town. It'd be fun!

PS: Still loving the AP RO. :)
