Rolex Date Unknown Dial --- Real? Fake?
Looking to purchase my first Rolex and with all of the people out there that are trying to take advantage of you, I wanted to really make sure I did my research before purchasing!
With extensive looking online I haven't been able to find any watch with the exact same dial. I'm fairly new to this forum so let me know if there's anything else that could possibly help you guys help me out. Attached are the pictures of the watch and papers. The current owner said that the papers haven't been signed (as you can tell from the pictures as well). I've also never heard of this... - Any advice that you have is greatly appreciated, I've been looking and researching for roughly 3 months and any advice or criticism is very helpful for a novice buyer like myself. Thanks! |

Yes, genuine dial. Sure I have a contemporary catalogue pic of it, too.

Gorgeous watch! The engine tuned bezel works really well with that dial.

I've posted in some other forums, have had some concern with the clasp, band, and unsigned papers?
Any insight? |

The clasp shows a lot of miles on it, as well as refinishing and does not jive with the relatively pristine look of the "rivet" bracelet. Pictures are just that, pictures; they are no substitute for hands on inspection and verifiable provenance..

Great watch...i'm drawing a blank on the dial, but there is a name for the long hash marks, more common on blue dials - but the grey is very cool. I wouldn't pay a high premium for the papers - nor expect a high premium for having them.
