Another satisfied Scotch-Brite customer

I posted last week that I had accidentally got a CA type super glue on my SubC bracelet and it appeared to be stained (although at least one member doubted the CA type glue could stain the 904L steel). I received some great advice from members on CA remover and scratch removal, etc. Well, when I was in the AD today I asked to use a loupe to see the stain. Lo and behold it looked like plain old scratches! I'm wondering how it was scratched in a weird pattern exactly where the CA type glue got on it. I wonder if the glue dried to the bracelet and then as the glue wore off it scratched the steel.

In any case, I stopped into Walmart for some Scotch-Brite pads. I went over the link with a slightly damp Scotch-Brite pad lightly 10-15 times carefully back and forth with the grain. Scratches gone.

Thanks, forum.

By the way, after using Scotch-Brite for the first and seeing how well it works to bring out the brushed finish, I'm thinking I'll just leave my watch unpolished.

Looks better now.
I have used a nail file block with varying grades of roughness on all sides to buff up my old Sub previously and it worked a treat.
Only on brushed finishes I might add.

Looks great, mysterious how the super glue would cause scratching.

But it made it all yellow!

Looks great! learned something new today. (I would have NEVER approached any watch with a scotch-brite.)

Haha. I tried to get the same lighting for both pics but couldn't manage it.

That was super confounding to me, too. That's why I thought it was some sort of stain and was surprised to see under a loupe that it was scratches.

Looks perfect now. Scotch Brite can work wonders on a brushed finish - I used some this morning on one of my clasps.
