Rolex warranty work question
I recently purchased a GMT Master 2 from an AD and have noticed that the bezel is slightly misaligned, the triangle does not line up perfectly at 12:00. I am considering sending the watch in to get this corrected under warranty but was wondering if Rolex will polish the watch as they do when in for service. If so i can live with it and would send it later on when it has accumulated scratches and usual wear. Is this something Rolex do when carrying out warranty work or is this only done during servicing? TIA

Not sure about the UK but here in the states, Rolex normally will not polish unless the watch is in for a overhaul/service.

From what I've read here, all you do is include a note with the watch that states you DO NOT want it polished.
My bezel is aligned, but my cyclops is crooked so I'm debating on the same thing as you. |

Rolex warranty work question
Why bother with the RSC?
Return to your AD and the watchmaker can surely slide off the bezel and realign the insert. And he won't be wasting time polishing things if you tell him.

Send it in for repair or take to the Service Center if you are close. Tell them nothing else is to be done to the watch.

Warranty work covers manufacturing defects. They will repair the watch but they won't generally service or polish it. Now, it still makes sense to communicate to them you do not want it polished because there is a chance they may perform a full service on the movement if they feel it is necessary in order to return the watch in proper working order, for example, say the problem was foreign matter under the crystal.
But to correct your problem is very likely a quick fix. I wouldn't imagine a full service being performed.

It's pretty noticeable, this picture is taken dead centre (look at the hand stack) Like i said i can live with it in the knowledge i can send it back in the future and they would fix it.

On the above angle I can see the misalignment. If it bothers you that much, I would sent it in and request just a bezel alignment; no polish or service required. (I should check my BLNR tonight, never even crossed my mind) Thanks OP!

That is barely noticeable and I would not worry about it but if you are concerned, you should have it fixed.

I requested no polishing when I sent mine in for warranty work. Sent through the AD to Dallas. They took care of packaging and postage.

I'd leave it alone myself.
But if it's a bother, the RSC could rectify it. IMHO it qualifies as a workmanship shortcoming.
