3186

I have a newish 116710 with the 3186 inside. I would love to have a better idea of how the 3186 ticks, are there any schematics, diagrams, videos etc of the 3186 movement.

I don't have a video but I do have a picture of the older 3185 when I had one disassembled.

how longs it take to put that back together? easier to disassemble or reassemble?

When taking it apart after the first cleaning I look for worn parts and check the end shake of all the gears and the escapement. (the amount of space that a gear has between two bearings is called end shake). Then I replace the worn parts and clean the movement again to ensure it is 100% clean. This complete disassembly procedure takes about 90 minutes.

Putting it back together takes me about 3 hours because you need to lubricate and regulate as well And when you're working on older movements you will often find a few problems when assembling, then you need to fix it and clean it again.
