317 or 277?

Panerai makes essentially the same watch in four materials; steel, titanium, gold, and soon ceramic. which do you like the best?

im thinking that ceramic might be more collectable, and certainly looks great! but so does the gold!!

dont know the price yet, so can really compare it to the others, so your selection should not be based on price.

I agree that the rose gold is beautiful however IMHO it is a bit much on the luminor case for me. That being said I have on order a FER 24 in rose gold so I would have to see it. I would opt for what is available. I have requested the ceramic and Titanium. I suspect that they may prove difficult to acquire and will not hold my breath.

317 25K and I would take the promise with a grain of salt. Sure they have good intentions but they are not even sure what they will get until it shows up.

yep, 25k, but they have a 7% increase in september before they even ship one!!! may be another after that, who knows.

anyway, had one in my wrist tonight; there was a guy from panerai who (along with the local shop) hosted a get together complete with a bunch of rare watches from the factory; he had a platinum tourbillon, the new ceramic 317, and a bunch of other stuff that was nice. got to play with them all, put them on etc.!!! pretty nice deal, and they gave us a 2008 book and panerai keychain to boot.

sorry no pictures, it was fairly dark and all i had was my iphone.

but the 317 was BEAUTIFUL!!!!

we will see what happens at the AD. but so far so good.
