Hello and Intro

Hi Guys, not been very active on here but hoping to change that. After flirting with many different brands over the last couple of years have settled on Rolex. Got 3 in the collection currently. SD (my third - flipped the other 2 then regretted it), SS Ceramic GMT (my fourth - same story) and most recent acquisition a LV Sub. Hope to learn loads here.
Quick question - how many links should a new LV Sub have ? I've not had to remove any and I'm on the last hole on the clasp.

Cheers,

maseman

Welcome to the forums maseman! Glad to have you aboard and congratulations on your beautiful timepieces!

With regards to your question, the LV Sub should have 13 links plus the divers extension link which would fold out. However without the divers link out, it should be 13 just like any other model in the professional line. Look at your LV from the side and count how many individual links it has. Coming from the factory, it has the full 13.

I know its not a Submariner but my Explorer II came brand new from the AD with 13 links. I don't see why the Submariner LV would have an extra link over all the other professional watches. Unless your counting the divers extension as an extra link of course. Lets just say 13 + 1.

Got my 'M' Sub last month, never thought about the number of links 'til I saw this post...I've got 11 plus 2 in the diver's extension.

Is it possible (given the cost of links) that an AD would be tempted to remove a couple to keep as spare or sell on...?

If so, should I be going and asking for more links from the AD (better off in my pocket than in his)...?

Cheers
