Ive been looking for a while for a birth year Rolex. I was born in 87 and theres so many models I like and cant pull the trigger on one. I also want to get somthing that would be somewhat of an investment piece.

Does anyone hear have a Rolex that was bought just for their birth year? and so which model.

Show the new guy some pics. I really think it might be a GMT but im not sure any advice on which i should buy?

For '87 the world is your oyster (pun intended). I'd be looking for a nice GMT 16750 or 16700 if I were you.

Unfortunately my birth year GMT is a little out of reach now...

The birth year watch thing just doesn't do it for me, have absolutely no interest. Maybe that's because I'd be looking for antique watches!!

I chased one for a few years and finally found a nice example earlier this year. Somewhat fitting since I will be 50 next month.

I've spent the last 30 years looking for a Rolex from 1904 but no luck so far.

I can't even find a picture online, maybe someone here can help?

Sadly, I'm in the expensive gilt-dial era for a birth year Rolex sports watch. So my alternate plan is to find a full set watch with papers stamped with the date of my birthday. THAT will be a true "birth" watch.

Thats a great idea. I figure if i pick up a sports model from 87 now, ill have a nice investestment piece down the road and wont pay a arm and leg. I really like the two tone subs from that time.

Thats a great idea! Ive always loved the gold and two tone subs from the 80's but never actually bought one. I think a nice gold sub from 87 would be nice.

If anyone has one from 87 post a pic and if your willing to sell I might be intrested.

I have a 1978 Submariner. for a 38/39 year old. It's. a Mk. 3 Maxi Dial and is running as good as gold.
