Sometimes less is more

Tried a few Rolexes on today

1). The hulk. Beautiful watch. Stunning dial. Totally didn't do it for me.

2) Explorer 2 - black dial. Loved it. Wears well and I will have one one day

But the one that ticked all the boxes, sat beautifully on my wrist and is perfectly proportioned - was this

Just need to justify it now to sit alongside my sub

Great choice especially if you already have a sub.

Sometimes you just need to see, and hold in person to know what strikes you.....

I remember when I was considering the GMT IIC; held it, tried it on, but couldn't stop looking over at the Explorer 39 mm in the case..... the rest, as they say is history.

Cheers all. Haven't bought it yet though.

It's BNIB at a great price too. Only problem is my wife now has her eye on this, which she tried on yesterday and loved it. It looks great on her too so I'd need to sort that out first

This thread is a bit confusing. Is the watch for you or your wife? .

I would pick a different dial color as you have black with the sub. Nice watch though.

Chaps

This is a very refreshing thread. It is reassuring to know that some Rolex owners prefer to wear an understated watch.

Regards

Mick

Good choice, probably the easiest dial to read, alongside the explorer.
