5712 or 5711
Hi all
I've been looking for a new 5711 here in the U.K for a while but can't find one at any AD yesterday the AD called me to say they have a 5712 arriving in the next 3 weeks and I can have that if I want it My question is will the 5712 hold its value like a 5711 because I like to consider Future values as to not lose too much cash on a large purchase I like both watches the same I think Cheers Andy |

I think both watches hold their value pretty well, although the 5711 is much harder to acquire from an AD in Europe. You should buy the watch you like most, not the one with the shorter lead time.
My personal preference is the 5711. |

Blue 5711 is on ultra high demand right now. So yeah that's the one going at a premium. Blue 5712, by my estimate, is a step below in those terms.
For me, I'd "tolerate" and spend the extra for the 5712 because I don't mind the asymmetry and I absolutely love the micro rotor. Especially over the standard 324 movement in the 5711. |

I prefer the 5712, though am getting a 5711 after the New Year. The 5712 holds great value, but the 5711 on that perspective is a little better, get the one you prefer

From flipping perspective the 5711 is a better deal from user experience the 5712 is ahead.

5712 will certainly hold its value, no less if not more than 5711.
Go for it! |

UK market is messed up right now for popular models, thus both these will have strong resale so go for the more interesting 5712, 5711 may still be many months away.

I'm a big fan of the Nautilus line from PP
I think anytime you can pick up a 5711 it's a good move. I will say that the 5712 was my least favorite model I always thought the dial was busy...That was until I tried it on and spent some time with it. In person the dial is very interesting and I'm a complete sucker for the blue dial! |

Stunning picture and watch! OP, I have owned both and have flipped both. I miss the 5712, not the 5711. And I hope to own the 5712 again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the 5726 but for some reason really want the 5711. I would say get a complication first then you may go to the base 3 hand.

I have a 5711 and am seriously considering a 5712 also. Both are great pieces. When I can't decide, I always say, get them both!!

PP is a lot about complications for me, so got a 5712, 5726, both sold because I needed the cash for investments, and now I got the 5712 back and added a 5167R, and a 5711 will come as well, waiting for the arrival date, which should be first quarter of 2017, but if I had to choose only one it would be the 5712 |

5712 IMO.. It's a better watch, even though the 5711 is currently in higher demand.
The moon phase and the microrotor are sublime.

I have neither watch, but think both are beautiful. Considering movements about 3 or 4 issues back in the Patek magazine a group of "well seasoned" Patek Phillippe watch makers and movement designers were comparing calibers, they agreed the 240 was the "penthouse" of movements.
