Tudor Black Bay questions...

I am REALLY loving this watch. I like the domed crystal gilt dial markings, gold snowflake hands and burgundy bezel ...

I am interested in finding a gently used one on the forums in the hopefully near future, however I have 2 very imp questions which I'd like to have some info on...

1) I know this watch houses the 2824 movement. Does it mean that the crown changes the date in the first position? In other words is there a useless date wheel under the dial? Or does the crown has only 2 positions (one for winding and the other to set the time) ala Rolex 3035 in say the 14060M? I would be glad to have some answers as this would be a 100% deal breaker for me ...

2) Why oh why did Tudor make such a nice watch then mess it up with a funky, gawd awful crown ? Do you know if there are any interchangeable crowns for this watch?

Thanks for any help ....

It will be at least a couple of months before that watch hits the market, so I'm not sure many will have answers for you.

I doubt that any ETA movement in a Tudor has any superfluous parts.

If I'm not mistaken the 14060M uses the 3130 movement, albeit a variant of the 3135.

Thanks for reply. I hope you are right...it would be foolish to just slap in a date movement from the pelagos into the black bay with no mods whatsoever...

Given the importance I give to engineering design this would be a 100% deal killer for me...

Bump for a definitive answer to the date mechanism -- is there a "blank" date position with the crown?

Agree
ETA makes several versions of the 2824, some with date some without, and in 4 different accuracy levels.

Hi guys. Sorry to bring up an old thread.

Does your BB have an intermediate position between the first (unscrewed crown) and the other ( when you set time)?
Mine seems to have it... Is it normal?

Thanks

No, my ETA Black Bay goes straight from winding position to time setting position. No unused date setting position in between.
