Opinions on Seiko Astron?

Looks pretty cool in my opinion. I especially liked the model SSE091.

Might buy it for my brother for his 18th bd.

What do you think about the watch?

It doesn't need a battery change. Ever. No service requirements. Ceramic bezel. The whole watch is scratch resistant. Its indestructible. Sets it self using GPS. Worldtimer. Gains 1 second in 100000 years. MOP dial. Limited. Comes with additional leather strap.

I think I just convinced myself to but it

I'm not a fan of the design but the features are pretty cool.

I agree, functionality is great but I could not find one I liked enough to buy.

I too am intrigued by the functionality, but not so much the price or design. I love the model you're looking at and the SSE095 as they look like the most "normal" watches of the Astron line.

I just feel like an atomic solar G-Shock keeps time well enough for me, and would give me the durability and accuracy I would want. If the Astron was like maybe in the sub-$1000USD range, it would be much higher on the pecking order for me. I just feel like for the price I would rather have like a quartz grand seiko, or a swiss automatic.

I have had mine for 4 years.

Nice watch with excellent quality and depth to the dial.

Handy for setting the correct time on all my watches.

A great daily beater if you value accuracy. IMHO, a perfect travel watch ;-)

A friend owns a titanium one, very nice quality timepiece.
I considered this one as well, but did not really like the light weight.
Bought a G-shock with similar functions, MTG G1000, but the Seiko is a much better made watch imho. Superb in fit and finish.
