Daytona WG Meteorite
I recently bought a Daytona in WG with meteorite dial. It currently has a leather strap and i wanted to upgrade it to the white gold bracelet. The code for the bracelet i believe is 78599. I cant seem to find it anywhere to buy/order one. The actual rolex website wasnt much use. Does anyone know where i can buy one and how much they cost...

Original Daytona with strap can't not be fitted with a metal bracelet .

Yes not possible and the price of the bracelet let alone availability should be prohibitive. Better off trading and buying 116509.

I beleive a gold replacement braclet is >12,000 more likely >18,000. They are not interchangable due to the location of the spring bars, I believe. More knowledgeable people will post shortly.

Not sure on price, but it's the end links that are different.
And as mentioned, you'd be better off selling or trading in the 19 for an 09 anyways. |

It can't be done. I bought the same watch several years ago with the black leather strap from David SW and wanted to do the same. The end lugs are made differently and it can't be fitted. Ended up trading that watch back to him along with my old TT black faced Sub and then got the watch I wanted. Never looked back!

But you can take one that was made for the bracelet and fit it with a strap with no problems... Right?

Yes, but you be going without Rolex end links. There are custom made aftermarket end links that can fill the gap, though.

The end links on your very cool meteorite dialed Daytona are fitted into recessed pockets milled into the watch's midcase and secured underneath the bezel. The advantage is no rattling or flexing. The trade off is a SEL bracelet won't interchange easily. On a braceleted Daytona, the end links are attached to the bracelet and are not part of the case. So when you remove the bracelet, you could install a strap without end links, or get some custom end links (non-Rolex) to go with the strap. I have used custom end links but all of them rattle a bit... But, if you are handy with watchmaking tools there is a DIY way per another member's post a few years back. What's easy for Larry may not be easy for everyone... ![]() See: http://www.rolexforums.com/showpost....8&postcount=14
