Hi all,
After my KO during several months I'm here again to start some projects I've been working with some providers and friends.
One day I fall in love with a beautiful white dial Tudor prince. Since that day I've been searching for some pieces to build it myself.
One year ago a good friend told me had a nice NOS Tudor case. After sending some pics I bought it. The case was attached with the crystal, gasket, tube, case back and o-ring.
My second purchase was the crown. Here I took my time to decide which crown get. The "crown" or the "emblem". Finally I decided to mount the Tudor emblem.
Few months later I bought an oyster bracelet which I did not received yet. This one is coming with Rolex crown. Why? Because was a good deal.
One month ago I found in France a seller with the beautiful dial. Is not new but is in quite good conditions.
Two weeks ago I found the hands in USA. About the hands I was very worried because after searching for months I had only one option to get the right ones. Now waiting the arrival.
Well, right now I have no smooth bezel and movement but I'm sure will find sooner or later!!

Hi all,
Today is a good day! I went to the post office and found the hands!
Due to my desperate hunting of the right hands I bought initially a Ranger hands set. But these hands are not matching the dial. The good ones are still traveling.

After opening the hands parcel I've found a flat envelope with my name on it.
Opened and....

The smooth bezel!!! ...wait! I did not ordered!.. after few confused seconds I called my friend and told me found the bezel and just sent to me. Thanks Joe!!
Well, now the quest is to find the movement. This Tudor in particular uses an ETA 2824-2 based movement. I've been searching for this movement for months and no success. Found one but with missing parts and very expensive.
Probably I'll fix a new ETA elabore movement with signed rotor and bridge...(just thinking)
So... I have the complete case and crown with dial.
Waiting for the definitive hands and bracelet.
Wondering to continue searching for Tudor movement ETA based or mount a New elabore ETA movement.

Hi all,
After few days thinking about the movement I've decided to fix an ETA 2824 nickel plated. I have this movement in stock and I can adjust it to +/- 6-8 sec/day. Sorry about this.

Well, now first thing to do is to adjust the glass and center the magnifier. Now use the presser tool and fix the smooth bezel carefully.

Done!

Now is time to take out the stem from the movement, take some measures, cut it and refinish with Arkansas stone.

Ok! Time to fix the Ranger hands. Why? A friend convinced me to do it due to the dial composition. He said is like the Ranger date 6,9,12 so would be nice to use a Ranger's hands. I've been thinking about that several days and finally I'll use this ones.
NOTE: This dial has different measurements than the Ranger one. Seconds marks are closer to the center so this hands are more or less 1mm bigger for this dial.

Took my plastic tweezers (happened once scratched the hands with metallic ones) and turn the movement with dial up. Previously I wound the crown to locate hands at 12 (just when date disc changes)
First hour hand, minute and seconds one. Hands are new so I need to press a bit more to tight them to the wheels. Not costumed because normally I work restoring vintage watches with old and softened hands.

Last pic needs to be magnified to see the alignment of the hands. In this pic you can see my fail, the seconds hand was not fixed well (too high) so later when fixing the movement in the case touched with the crystal!! F**k, take all out!!

Time to clean and blow!! In this part I take my time because I hate dust or fingerprints inside the watch/movement once I close the watch.

To fix the movement inside the case I need a movement holder and a pair of clamps to do it properly.
I'm not happy right now because was impossible to find the original holder so I bought a neutral one for ETA 2824 and adjusted to fit in the case. Probably I'll make one myself in the near future.

Time to screw and close the case back.
First of all I blow all again and fix the o-ring in its place. Carefully I center the case back and looking the o-ring is still in the right place.

After winding, moving the stem in and out several times, fixing the hour...
Is time for bracelet!!! Oops! Not arrived, is being tightened in UK. So look for a nice strap. In this case an Italian Cordura strap in black.

And the wrist pics!!! Nice little watch!!

I forgot to post the proper hands for this white dial.
I love these hands! Are pretty similar but smaller, thinner and shaped!! Seconds hand is great!!!

After several days wearing the little Prince I went to the office today and tested in the timegrapher after adjusting the movement a bit...

Not bad for a basic ETA 2824!! I'm happy.
