Availability of New Old Stock (NOS) watches

Hi everybody. I might be thinking of adding a 16570 to the collection next year. I would love a NOS, and searching in Chronos24 in the last few months I noticed that they are more or less widely available.

My question is: is it normal that one can find a 16570 NOS watch so easily? I struggle in my mind to think that a watch has remained new, unworn, and unsold for 10+ years. Could these ones really be NOS or should I worry about someone selling them as such when they are not.

Many thanks!

It is not strange. I have bought NOS with longer periods. If all stickers are in place (bracelet), that watch has never been adjusted. I have looked also for a 16570 but have had no luck with a good price.

Hope you find what you are looking for!

Yeah it's certainly possible. Some buy these things and just end up keeping it in a safe. Hope you find a good example, the 16570 is a great watch!

I would just PM all the Trusted Sellers in the classified section and see if they can locate you one. I think finding any NOS watch would be tough, especially if price is a factor.

It's a very expensive way of buying a 5-digit model.

As always many thanks for all the answers! This really helped. More and more I am attracted by the 5-digit references. I think mainly because of size and non-PCLs... And finding a NOS is a way of thinking you go to the store and get one fresh off the shelf. Although I understand that price might not make it worthwhile compared with a mint specimen.

I found an AP 15300 totally NOS from 2009, so sure it's not 10+ years, but 7 is still not bad, but I would suggest seeing it in person
