Ambien(Stilnox to us), 3 red wines a port some cheese, noise cancelling headphones (with ear plugs in), and sleep....... Having done that flight over 40 times I agree with Rob try to get at least 8 hours sleep and then stay up the whole first day here in Oz.....your best chance of avoiding 5 days of jet lag.

Take a book... War & Peace. It'll keep you occupied the entire time or put you to sleep.

I'd take some older crime films. Say; Dirty Harry, Lethal Weapon, Goodfellows, maybe a couple of Bronson Classics.

I hope you're not in coach!

Take an Ambien about an hour into your flight (after the meal service) and wake up in Australia.

I think I have watched every single movies/series that exists. It looks like it is going to be encores!

So far:
Once Upon A Time in America
Godfather Series
Christmas Vacation (to get int he holiday mood)
Cast Away (Changed my mind since it involves a crash lol)

Maybe:

West Wing (it would be the 4th time I watch it!)

Need a few more! I am not a great sleeper on planes. I will probably sleep 3 to 4 hours. Eat my meals for 1 hour.

The Ambient option seems amazing, however, I've never taken a sleeping pill. Not gonna try for the first time, in flight, 30K feet in the air.

Thanks for all your suggestions so far.

Lots of series or documentaries you can choose from. I've marathoned through "Narco" over the last 14 or so days and "The Walking Dead" There's a new movie coming out soon, not sure if it'll be before your trip. " How I Golfed My Way Across the United States During the Worst Recession In American History " I think it's an independent documentary.
Breaking Bad was really good too.

Have a safe Holiday. Lots of pictures

I do long flights like that a few times/year. The airlines usually have new releases available in the seatback (coach) or the entertainment center thing (business/first). I've found there's no need to bring a while bunch of gear for flights like that; I sleep a few hours and watch a couple movies and then the flight's over. I only bring my noise-canceling headphones.

Mix it up. I couldn't watch a series, after 2 or 3 I get bored and need a break.

A few from 2016:
Star Wars, the Force Awakens
Deadpool
Train to Busan (cool Korean zombie movie)
Star Trek Beyond
Magnificent 7
The Hateful 8
One Punch Man if you enjoy anime.

If you can find a torrent of Your Name, grab it. Great anime for kids or adults. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's the 2nd biggest movie in Japan's history.

As others suggested, try to sleep a lot. I sleep a lot on 24 hours flights from BKK to the US and have virtually no jet lag upon arrival.
