BLESSED to live in this country!!!!!
Today, another present....tamales. BUT, south eastern tamales! Food tells us stories and a lot about the place it is made. In Central America and South East Mexico, corn is not as common as banana; so tamales are prepared...in BANANA leafs! This brings new and outstanding flavors to the tamal; which unlike corn leaf tamal, is 7-8" long by 3-4" wide.

In southern India and Ceylon food is usually served on Banana leaves, which more hygienic than dishes washed without soap.

I've thought that myself. Having met G in person, I still don't understand it.
