Replacing Cyclops on Submariner

I knocked the cyclops off of my Submariner by running into a door.

I have sourced a replacement Cyclops but am unsure what glue to use to put the new Cyclops in place.

Any help appreciated.

UV glue. You can cure it with sunlight but for just a little more $$ than the glue itself, you can buy a kit with the glue and a special flashlight to cure it. Don't go crazy with the glue... Just a tiny drop like from tip of a toothpick is enough. Only the glue right under the cyclops will cure and the rest that squishes out can be wiped away.

While Googling I found a way to do it with Ultraviolet Glue - which needs a UV light to cure.

Will superglue or similar glue work just as well?

While you are at it, why don't you take some pics of your Submariner and post on here for us to see. I think lot of them will be interested to see Sub without Cyclops pics!!

It won't give you as much time to get the cyclops straight and probably won't dry as clear as the UV glue. www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=375949

It was an easy fix using the U/V light glue.

^^ I'm not sure how to state this diplomatically, but that cyclops does not look good at all. Too big and the level of magnification is low. Not sure where you bought it, but these cyclops from Otto Frei are popular among do-it-yourselfers and good quality.

The third one down, 7mm x 5.5mm is the correct size.

Perhaps the photo is deceiving.

The cyclops I added is in fact 7 mm X 5.5 mm. I quickly found the correct dimensions for the replacement before ordering doing a Google search.

I have had this Rolex for about 25 years & the magnification appears to be the same as it has always been.

Is it a little bit cockeyed (the right side looks lower than the left) or is it just a trick of the camera? I too thought that the magnification looked a little weak. I'm not one that thinks that a Submariner looks right without the cyclops although opinions vary.
