I used to work in the firearms industry. Customers would always compromise, they would not buy what they really wanted. I would tell them to wait and save your money to buy what you want. I just bought a new watch. It was a little more expensive than I wanted to spend but I could afford it. Buy what you want the first time.

Hoping to own my first Speedmaster Pro very soon. I prefer the new 44mm with the 9300 movement.

Jomashop has one on leather for brand new $5160 and on steel bracelet for $5249.

I hope to buy one from a trusted seller (or TRF member) for a price as close as possible to Jomashop's.

Icon6 Get a Speedy! Not lame at all!

Not lame at all. I've always wanted a Speedy but with auto movement. I should've bought one when they were selling for under $5K BNIB here on TRF (9300 movt on leather).

Finally received one last Saturday from a trusted seller with whom I've developed a relationship and have bought a few watches. I can't stop staring at my new (and first) Speedy 9300 and have six new straps on the way.

I hope this helps sway your decision, regardless which Speedy you desire. Just.Get.It.

You want a Submariner. You can get a Submariner. You SHOULD get a Submariner. Have you ever looked at the diameter of the Crowntube on each of these watches? Do some more research about the WATCHES THEMSELVES. You can have your cake and eat it too if you do it properly. Really.

The watch pictured on the left is nearly 20 years old, has never been serviced and has never missed a beat (touch wood). You should be fine with a new one, grey market or parallel imported, but just make sure you get compensated for the risk by a lower entry price. Alternatively, buy a lightly used one from a reliable forum member and it will have a little patina built in.
3570.40...DAMN that's a nice watch

Not lame at all buying a new Speedmaster. Different strokes for different folks. I love vintage so my watches don't look nice and shiny at all!!!

Heck why can't I start my own internet rumor and raise the prices of MY WATCHES!!!!
