The watch is 100% genuine so don't worry about that.

I've noticed a few in the FS section that were off too, one on a WG BLRO even. My 114300's is off too, no big deal

Its called the "rehaut"
Generally I insist for genuine watch that its perfectly aligned. but I have seen some that are not. Your GMTII is genuine, I can see that from other areas ENJOY adam

I too used to think rehaut engraving and alignment was supposed to be perfectly 'dead on' with the minute markers. I guess sometimes that isn't the case. Watch looks authentic to me.

That one is probably off more than most, but not in and of itself an indication that it is fake. Just inadequate QC on the part of Rolex.

The dial is just misaligned in the case. You can have that corrected by any watchmaker if it bothers you.

I do not know PADI or the other threads you mention, but in the OP's case it would be impossible to completely and correctly realign the rehaut markings to the dial batons. In the OP's case a new "case" would be required to make it "ALL" 100% align! A

The rehaut is a part of the case and that's what's off. Not the dial.

So pray tell me how rotating the dial will align the complete dial batons to the rehaut???? Also, tell me how you can rotate a dial, and still have the date window in the exact correct place, or 6 o clock????!!! A

You cannot rotate just the dial, but you can slightly, VERY slightly turn the entire movement by loosening the screws that hold it in the case. As you stated this may make the cyclops off from the date.

"pardon"
You guys are having a laugh, yes? So instead of an original watch where "just" the coronet is misaligned, we now have: "coronet correctly aligned to 12 o'clock baton BUT 3, 6, 9 o clock some 1mm out. The date window 1 mm out The cyclops 1 mm out AND Every other rehaut "X" and "R" 1 mm out!!!! Yes, that looks much better. Now why would it be IMPOSSIBLE to "very slightly move the movement"? This watch has a "triplock" Oyster crown - when you screw the crown down onto the stem, it must be dead straight and horizontal, not twisted round 1mm or so!. Tightening the "oyster" crown would immediately bring any movement back to its correct symmetry!!! So the OP has two option, leave as is, or return to a Rolex Service center, where they "may" agree to change the misaligned case!! adam

Not that I'm an expert far from it, if u look at the 12 triangle marker it is off to the right too. So it may be that the dial is out and all that will align once fixed. If new maybe the jeweler u got it from will correct or wait and ask it be aligned when in for your next service. My 2 cents

There is a very small amount of play between the dial and movement, and a bit more play between the movement and the case. It's a relatively easy fix IMO. It looks to be only a fraction of a millimeter off - the pics/magnification likely make it appear worse than it really is. |

FWIW, I would leave the dial alignment alone until the next service. |
