Grandfather's Rolex

I inherited my Grandpa's watch years ago. Never really wore it as it doesn't keep accurate time. Rolex won't service it. Anyone have a recommendation for service? Also any information about the model would be appreciated.

taking a while guess - model 6305, BB movement. Parts can be hard to get, yet any competent watchmaker in your area can repair it. Prepare to pay $500 to $1000 for the service. I would say that the dial has redone. Band is too new for the watch.

Correct. Band is a new Rolex band. Dial I am not aware of a replacement. What did you see pertaining to the dial it may be a replacement?

I Googled your model guess and came up with this. Looks like mine doesn't it?

Very cool watch. You must use a watchmaker who specializes in vintage and knows what is important. Tommy Taylor, R.W.T. on this forum, has a deft touch with older models and and does a very sympathetic service. And with Tommy you'll be able to brag to your buddies the service was done by a multi gold record winning musician. :)

Sutter's in Chicago is an RSC, but also has knowledgeable watchmakers on staff.

When you say "Rolex won't service it", it doesn't really tell us much.
