1665 Mark V Tritium Dial
I really am curious about this dial, apart from being seen on the last of the 1665s and at one point as a service dial - though most Mark V services we see are the "toothpaste" white dials - anybody else have info on it?
What prompted me to start this post is the fact that someone over on ebay couldn't seem to classify which Mark this is and is selling it at an astronomical price as a Mark .05 ;-) I can share the link if our mods will allow it. I myself have a Mark 5 tritium and when I asked a more experienced VR buddy of mine if the dial should worry me, his answer was more than logical - "A great white is a great white, and a fantastic watch. Don't worry about it too much, as long as the price reflects it. The best great white will make no sense at all even if it has all the bells and whistles, if you paid the premium price of a double red for it. Enjoy it and with the gigantic maxi plots of the Mark V matched with patina - it is arguably one of the coolest looking great whites out there." This is the opinion of one man, and very subjective - but makes a lot of sense to me. It also does make for a great daily beater watch for the VR lover. Sorry for the lengthy post, pretty slow day at work which is a good thing given the holiday rush. Hope everyone is having a great season! Cheers! |

That is a beautiful seadweller,it does have an old service dial though,if you take the DRSD website as gospel.
I've seen two for sale recently here in Sydney, though neither mention the dial as a service dial. Asking big coin too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Is it confirmed that this is only a service dial? Or was it ever used on the last batch of the 1665s?
