AP 44 ROO 26405CE vs. PP 5168G

I know these are 2 different watches, but given the somewhat similar price points, roughly $34K on the AP vs. $38K on the PP, which would you go for?

I guess I'm looking for a piece with rubber strap to get ready for warmer weather and casual wear on weekends.

I have tried on the AP 26405 CE 44 Chrono recently and it was pretty sweet in the flesh. I am first on the list for the 5168G at my AD with no firm commitment to purchse yet since I need to see how the 42mm size fits.

I'll be posting this on the AP forum as well to get a fair assessment.

what's in the rest of your collection? I find the AP much more sporty for weekend wear and the Patek to be more well rounded. The 5168G might be my first patek. Just wish it was Pt and it would be perfect.

AP all the way. I had the Anthracite dial 26405 for a while and loved it. Wore it all the time - weekends, office, business casual, summer....And I really like new 2017 dial better, so it's on my list. But I should also say I'm not a fan of the Aquanaut line at all.

Nautilus, I'd say try PP. I'd go AP 44 over the Aquanaut

My thoughts that got me to this point
Curious what your thoughts are on the 44 Ti?
Never been fan of the aquanaut, and wondering if its just the novelty, the blue and size upgrade that's causing this.

Dan, I really like the Ti, probably the most of the 3 new 44s, other two are a bit too dark for me. I also really liked this similar anthracite/grey dial on the old CE 44 and if they had put this on the new RG 44 I would have had some serious thinking to do.

Neil, yes, we are on similar pages now.
It's the dial that makes it tough. I would still love to have the ceramic case, but the dial is a bit too stealthy as you said.
I'm going to check both out again this weekend.

As for this poll, my AD offered a sweet deal to make it hard to resist on the 5168G.

I can't believe the Aquanaut is leading in the polls. If it was the nautilus I could maybe understand depending which nautilus. But the Aquanaut over a ROO??? Come on people.

Can't deny having a gold Nautilus and Aquanaut pair would be pretty cool.

Well on second look, the CE dial didn't look as stealthy as I had remembered.
The Ti dial looked great as what I remembered

44mm ROO over the 3hands aquanault. No brainer for me. But to be fair, need to see actual. Patek WG in any watch is quite attractive.

Agree with you on having to see actual to make fair assessment
