Quite simple as stated in the advert a frankenwatch small rose Tudor with non original movement,Custom date cut out dial, non original gold bezel and crown,and now completely devalued in its price.And as for the date when made quite simple with older Tudors on case back IV 68 = last quarter 1968.

why would a person goto the extreme of cutting out dial adding all to accomodate a date,,, when it would be easier to just get another movement,, THEN,,, adding bezel,,crown,,,all being brand new,,,, also what would bring you to the non original bezel thought?...regards philip

Perhaps who ever owned the watch had it customised just like people customise there cars,who knows.But IMHO definitely not a prototype just now a frankenwatch of many wrong parts.

i guess i need to just understand that you are correct and get off of my denial,,,but my main reason to believe otherwise is the condition of the watch,its mint mint every part of it,,leading me to believe a dealer did this in the late 60's ,,,its just to far fetched that a person would go to this extreme to modify a watch,,,but then again,,its modified!
with the good part being its modified with all the best parts,,,thanks moderator,,,"everyday is a learning experience being thankful someone teaches you is the best part about it"

i never saw this ,but-from the above remarks it seems as if the seller was using fake parts in a tudor watch. therefore misrepresenting this watch. This is frowned upon and people will have reported it for not being the genuine article.


Basically it is virtually worthless- you are paying for something that says Tudor on it- even the most of the watch is not.

like buying a Ford car with a Porsche badge

I FIGURED IT OUT,, I read ebays rules,,,here is the info:::: the watch that i was selling was indeed original,,,100% original,,,but ebay rules and regulations along with rolex states,,,anything modified on a rolex watch is consider replica,,,,irrelevant that the parts are original,,, the watch i was selling was a vintage tudor the movement was changed the bezel was changed and the stem was changed along with the addition of a "date" subdial,,,all parts were mint all were original but again modified,,,replica ebay and rolex state,,,,i just came back from a rolex dealer that view the watch personally and he stated everything was original parts but again,,,,modified,,,, hope this helps buyers in the future to check everything,,,,

heres the bottom line which is vauge to the extreme,,,,Guideline: If the product you are listing bears the brand or logo of a company, but it wasn't made or authorized by that company, don't sell it on eBay.

It's true....every day is a learning experience. And I think that Peter gave you a pretty good indication of what the watch community would perceive about your Tudor..

We, of course can't speak for E-bay as we have no connection to them..

Many, many folks come here for an assessment of their watch... Some find what is said to be uplifting, and others find the experience to be less than that...

Having a watch that you like to put on each day, like to look at, and enjoy the experience of, is what this hobby/passion is all about.. - it shouldn't really matter if it's a bag of mixed parts, or a pristine vintage collectors piece..

We have let this thread ride despite a couple of forum infractions, so that everybody can learn a bit one way or the other...

If anybody wants to talk about watches and learn from some knowledgeable experts............this is the place to be.

It seems like it has all been sorted out very well indeed.

It is enlightening to hear about the E-bay policy, and it seems that according to their rules (if this be correct) that any modified Rolex is considered to be unacceptable for the purposes of it being listed on e-bay for sale.
