Cost Estimate?
Before I trek to the nearest AD, anybody want to venture a guess as to the ballpark cost for the work I'm considering? Nothing is wrong with the watch, a GMT2 Pepsi 16710 made in 2000. I wouldn't mind getting it "refreshed" though, and of course keeping the original parts that would be replaced.
Pepsi bezel insert New face for better lume New hands for better lume If we're talking several thousand dollars US then I'm not doing any of it. But if the cost would be under one thousand dollars I'd consider it.

Pretty sure a new bezel from Rolex is around $40 and the hands are close to $85 each. Not sure about a new dial sorry.

I'm not sure how much difference a service dial and hands would make. The lume on these aren't great, even when new.

What really got me going on this was a discussion in which people were posting their pics of the new Pepsi GMT in WG, with the new ceramic bezels. Wow!! On both the look and the price!

If you are at all concerned about the future value of your watch then do not replace the dial or hands. Your watch isn't quite vintage but all the future vintage value would be lost with a replacement dial and hands. If you replace the bezel insert keep the original.

Your refresh, if it matters, may affect your future resale value. Most people want them as original as possible, especially the dial, hands and bezel. Unless it's really beat up and overfaded looking. But again, many people like that kind of patina. Maybe post a larger pic of your Pepsi and see what folks on TRF think. Cheers!

Yes, unless they are badly damaged, I'd keep them original

I recently had an 1988 sub refurbished. I had the bezel replaced, new dial, hands replaced, clasp replaced, new crystal, and new crown and it was $2400. That also included the cleaning and oil. I know the crystal was a couple hundred and the clasp was about 4-500. If you get the cleaning, you're probably looking at about 1400-1500.
