Especially this time of year, French chardonnay, warm weather (eventually) and good food, a hard combo to surpass!!

Went with this Pinot Noir from Matrix, a producer that uses grapes from my families vineyard.

A little Molly Dooker - Cabernet Sauvignon tonight with the wife. This is my first bottle and it is great, but I am not sure if it lives up to the hype. Make sure you google "Molly Dooker Shake" to learn about the nitrogen and how to properly open the wine.

We sell to a few different producers as well.

Can't speak for Trace or for his family.
I do know the St Rose Pinot Noir is pretty special.
Heavier than usual Pinot.
Trace will chime in!
Ok,he will chime in before me!

Thanks for the kind words Scott

True, my families style of Pinot Noir is done in a more Burgundian style. It won't be the typical Calif style "fruit bomb" that's masked with strawberry and cherry notes, but rather a bigger style, with bigger wood, and a much heavier mouthfeel.

Great to know. I will see if I can find some St. Rose and give it a try. Even though we don't know one another, this forum makes me feel like we are friends so I should add some of my friend's wine to my collection!

Trace is a super cool guy. We have proudly enjoyed his families wine during major holiday feasts at my house!

Please excuse IPhone response!

Very high alcohol content on the ones I had, I bought 4 different of the reds: let's see Boxer,(. I think Shiraz) carnival of love (Shiraz), left feet ( blend) and Maitre d ( cab)
. Tô be honest I liked the labels is why I bought them the prices have gone up now. It's been about 5 years since I last drank them

yes you should shake it after you pour out about an ounce.

The second time I had it I left it decanted over night. 16-17% which is way to high for me so it was better after a night out. It was good the next night though. It's ok wine.. I'm not a Aussie wine drinker although some of the wines from there that I was served were very good.

These wines are ok but certainly not the best of what Australia can produce. This Cab Sav is pretty good but the heat from the alcohol content coming at the end is what brings it down for me.

Mollydooker makes the one of the highest alcohol content wines over here, which is not many people's (including me) cup of tea. Love the novelty of the shake.....

Yes, it came highly recommended but I did not love it. Price for Gigglepots (Cab Sav) is $50-60 around here. For me, the taste just didn't justify the price. I am happy I tried it, but I will pass on any future purchases.

I would highly recommend St. Rose -- especially if stylistically you lean towards the Burgundian style pinots. This is a complex, well structured/balanced Pinot throughout the entire palate. I knew the wine was special at its first aroma. Decant it for an hour or two and it will NOT disappoint.

Cheers!!!

Haha! That is the way it goes most of the time.

I will be buying some soon. The wife and I really like Pinot Noir. I also love supporting family businesses especially ones that are friends.
