CTS V's won't let you get to redline (in paddle manual)...just FYI. I owned/tracked one as well.

Big ticket, no way 100K for that car. Too many options. Base 911 comes to mind. I have a 2015 SL550 and would in no way consider that car over the SL. I'd keep the SL until you find the one.

It is nice looking though, I think Lexus did a nice job with it.

I imagine there was some protection logic but still the tranny was not the same at the end of lease.

It's a fun car...smaller than it looks though. And interior has a lot to be desired IMHO. For OP you're better off with MB (used).

For 100 I would get a CPO 991 gts. If it must be new, no judgement, then base c2. Still a great car and much better than a Lexus lc 500

Lexus sponsored our Cars and Coffee event in Sydney last weekend to launch the car.

I liked it more than I thought I would, but it is HUGE, I would think it close to S Class Coupe size, you need to live where there are big roads. Had 21in wheels as well.

I got to look at a the new LC at my local Lexus Dealership this week. It is an amazing looking vehicle and I don't think pictures do it justice. The one they had had a sticker of 104K and it was sold. It comes back to the same question, do you spend 100k on this car or do you look at other options for the same money. It just depends on who you are and what you want. The SL from MB is a great car but the depreciation is huge and it does not stop. I would go drive the Lexus, what do you have to lose? Then if any doubt I would just keep my MB until I figure it out.

So looked at the LS last night and definitely not me. Sorry but the cockpit still looked like a old man Lexus. And even the lines didnt jump out at me. You all said it perfect, there are way too many cars to look at when you start at 100k.
Again, apples to apples, this compares to the c63AMG, and amg wins hands down. I really need to be looking at 1 year old cars that are CPO and be smart about it.

I even asked the lady about the big dollar upgrade for the carbon fiber roof. If you choose that pricey option, you loose your see-through moonroof which is standard. Thats crazy in itself.

A great friend here in Odessa had a Cayenne S, even changed the electronic card so he had something like 680hp, a beast, but sold it to get a Lexus, still trying to figure out if he has a brain tumor or alzheimer to do something so stupid. Nice cars, but not for that kind of money, no way!!!!

I'm kinda in the market for the S550 coupe, and I'm finding slightly used 2016 models for about $30K (retail CPO) under MSRP. Ouch indeed!

No, I don't. That kind of rational discourse annoys me. It's like saying "a $50 Timex will also tell you the time just as well (better, actually) as your Rolex". We all know there's more to it than that.

Still, I'm having a hard time rationalizing another $100K+ car. I've had several of them, and it usually ends badly. They were Porsches, by the way. Great cars, wonderful performance, but they are not for those of us who like our luxury and comfort.

Lexus and Audi both went to the same school of grille design...........WhalemouthU.com

Until both these manufacturer's change this aspect of their car's visual I won't even bother to walk into their showroom.

Just a thought. ...since you were considering 100k price range, seeing that you are also very happy with the MB product, can you find a used one year old CPO AMG GT. ....that's a hell of a car, a graduation of sorts from your current SL. Or just buy an extended warranty for your SL, that is a stunning car with loads of features and great road presence. Post pics of your SL! Have fun deciding.

Word is that the main Audi designer went to Lexus a few years ago. So it does make sense that they would have a similar grill look. Although I believe he has helped Lexus with styling.

FWIW, check out the BMW M6 or 6 series. I think they offer the best of both worlds. Comfort and performance.

2018 Lexus LC 500

Depends what you're looking for in a car. They all lose value, some more than others (MB, BMW vs Porsche).

Lexus has better resale than the MB & BMW but I think they make better 4 door cars than 2 door.

Don't think that for $100k the entry level Porsche is the bottom of the barrel bc compared to competitors, it's way past them in MANY ways.

MB does make some nice cars but I've always had fun in my P cars and always looked for a way out of the MB's after a month ;)

Have to agree here. I've been a loyal Lexus customer, but the latest designs are not doing it for me. They are either trying too hard, or not hard enough...
