Report on GMTIIc after 5 days - SCORE OUT OF 10?
I was a little nervous and apprehensive about my new 116710 for first few days, but now it just feels "right". It's one of those watches that are a reflection of your own personality if you know what I mean. I’m loving it more and more every day.
For those who are considering getting one, I wanted to share some additional info… most of these comments have been made by others, but I figured a re-cap would be handy. Not a full review, just some succinct observatons...
= 9 = 1 PS. oops, haven't even thought of checking accuracy yet, but maybe that should wait until after the "break-in" period... PPS. I had better include a pic...

Great report, but keep in mind that your 15 year old Seiko may be using Tritium. BTW, it takes about 2 days to break in your watch, so you should be good to go on your accuracy check.

That's great.
I hope your review will encourage more members toward a new GMT IIc purchase. I see several posts where people are still undecided between the GMT or something else like a sub. I.V. |

Hi all,
thanks for the feedback. When I first went into an AD 6 months ago, I asked for a Sub. He showed me one, but then suggested the GMT... when compared alongside each other, yes, the Sub was muchh more subtle and the GMT really "popped" (again under the strong quartz lights) so I was not 100% convinced. But then I looked at all the updates (especially the clasp) and I knew the answer. I also believe that most WIS's can't really be objective. You all know your 116710's from your 16800's... whereas most of the general public would have a hard time even recognizing it was a Rolex... the other factor is the huge increase in the number of "bling" watches here most clothing and other fashion labels are producing huge, blingy watches that are polished all over to cash in on a look, and "branding" them. In comparison, our Rolex's are mostly very very discreet, so please don't let the polished centre links stop you from getting one of the newer models. I have had mine on for nearly a week now, and no-one has given it a second look!!! (except me of course :)

Love that maxi dial and it's gaining on me. More than ever that I have an itch to get a black bezel and switch out the green bezel on my LV sub!

Nice one. It's next on my list, probably at the end of the year since I just bought the green Sub last month. Enjoy!
