I think that I have lost it!
I posted several threads over the last week with regard to acquiring a five digit Sub.
Both steel and gold were an option. I poured over many listings and sought out every imaginable source. As I was hoping for LNIB or NOS, what was being offered did not quite get me over the line.. thank goodness for that! Please let me explain. I saw a good friend today who was wearing a like new 16610 (engraved rehaut), he hardly ever sports this watch, his YG DD has been on his wrist for twenty years. It was a perfect example, I told him my recent thoughts, our lockers are quite close, he told me to try it whilst he was on the course (golf). I was just there for breakfast but on my way out I was being pulled to his locker! I opened his locker and there was the watch! I picked it up, admired it, and then tried it on. It had the familiar feel of many five digit references, except to me the crown was large. My other five reference models are both 16710, one Coke, one Pepsi, both SEL, one with lug holes one without, both mint. This watch was nice, really nice, but, and there was a but, did I like my GMT's more, much more!? I strapped the watch to my wrist and headed home. Once home I retrieved my two 16710's. Wow, what a watch! I had been wearing my 116520 for the last six months, so the color of these two was really vivid. Right there my mind was made up - I needed more 16710's! The reason for this is that I need to wear these unworn watches, but still wish to enjoy truly mint examples as well. As the title says, I have truly lost it! Has anybody else gone through this? And no, I did not return the watch to the locker! I did send a text to say what what I had done. My good friend laughed, he also thought that I was nuts! |

You had!
Don't blame you as my 16610 has been with me for over 22 years! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I'm a 16710 lover, but even to me that seems crazy! Take the stickers off one, wear it to death, and keep the other to admire as the safe queen!
Or take a look at a NOS 16610 LV if you crave a bit of colour in the sub variety.

I like the 16610LV, I just like the 16710 more, I've just bought another online, there isn't definitely something wrong with me!
