Swap 114060?

Hi I know this is a Rolex forum but I was hoping for some honest opinion to help me decide on a swap for my 114060 sub that has been put forward to me. A straight swap with a speedmaster "tin tin" and seamaster chronograph 2599.80.00 for my sub.

Should I go for it?

I have a number of other Rolex in my collection and thought it would be good to introduce some variety. But then I also quite like my sub as an every day watch.

If you're not wearing the no date, go for it!

If you like your sub and don't have another sub, I'd say no. Diversity for the sake of diversity in a collection isn't a good idea. I've always disliked the Omega diver chronos, just not attractive watches in my eye. The Speedy is a classic of course, and the tintin is a unique one...but they're also not super expensive. I'd say keep the sub and work on eventually picking up a Speedmaster as that is Omegas best watch by far.

Hi Mr Evolver75

It's Agent Fox 017 at her Majesty's Secret Service reporting for duty,SIR !
I have a colourful history of pissing off a lot of "Native Elders" on the Omega Forum when I write stuff like this. They think I'm rude, brash and disrespectful but seriously...I dont give a damn of what they think of me...

The Omega Speedmaster Tintin is neither a limited edition nor "Your so-called great investment Speedie"(It not as special as Snoopy or Spectre, Got It ?!) but what made it much revered and highly collectible by the Omega vintage Gurus and fanboys alike are as follows :

1.The watch is so much better appreciated in the flesh compared to websites photos which dont do the watch justice !
2. It's one of those rare Speedies that looks really handsome when fitted on a perforated leather racing strap rather than a bracelet....seriously
3. Speedy Tintin production was discontinued soon after it was released due to surrounding controversies.Yeah you do see units occasionally popping up in the wild but it seems easily available in Tokyo, Japan.
4. Total production less than 2000 units.Does it make it more desirable?
5. Sloppy Imperfections on the dial. The chequered red white chapter ring has smudgy red overlapping the white squares ! In the Rolex language this is called the classic error dial
6.What also makes Speedy Tintin outstanding to collectors is the use of the red font writing on the case back

Seriously speaking, with the introduction of the new generation METAS certified Omega Seamaster Chronos Master Chronometer, nobody really wants the old seahorse. There are lots of those old XL models just lying stagnant in the local market here...

My personal evaluation:
Speedy Tintin + Throw in some free Tin Tin figurine toys + SMP Chrono + Cash USD1000-1250 = Rolex Sub ND

If your friend says " NO WAY HOSE " just blow Him a Kiss, turn around very slowly, wave goodbye and walk away....

I wouldn't let the Sub go for them. If anything I might add the Speedy and see how long you like it.

You always have to make a point of announcing to everyone time and again of pissing off folks on the Omega forum. Give it a rest, you don't impress anyone and no one cares either.

I'd only consider it if those are watches that you really want, regardless of the trade. Otherwise, why bother?
