Extensive Vid Review SD43 126600

I know we have all seen this watch in photos by now, but this is a really good video review that shows the watch up close and personal, all possible angles, for nearly 30 min. Looks fantastic. Best re-world video I have seen so far

I wish they would be the 22mm strap on the D-Blue

From an aesthetic point of view I totally agree.
However, on the wrist the width of the bracelet is hardly noticeable in all practicality and falls into the same category as the text on the Rehaut.

Consider this.
The DSSD is exclusively an exercise is technical capability and technology which was balanced with a brief to make the watch as wearable as possible.
From a styling perspective it has stayed in keeping with the original as much as possible with a large watch head on a thinner bracelet, but Rolex has still made it rather pleasing to the eye.
A wider bracelet is going to add unnecessary weight.
Substance over style.

In contrast the new SD43 is almost exclusively a styling exercise, with the exception of the skilful addition of a Cyclops.
Other than the addition of the Cyclops and the development of the new movement fitted inside the watch, it brings no added technology to the table over the older 6 digit model with no increase in depth rating.
It could be argued it's the last roll of the dice for Rolex in regard to this model.
It is a watch that is certainly more pleasing to the eye than any Rolex diver since the introduction of the Ceramic bezel.
Style over substance.
I believe it will be highly sought after for the foreseeable future regardless of the colour of the font on the dial.
It's so nice that it may even replace the DSSD in the market causing the ultimate discontinuation of the DSSD.

Wow interesting point - it makes sense - gotta say that DBlue is still one of the nicest ones out there

Good points, except for the bracelet comment, in my opinion. I have owned both the DSSD and now the sea dweller 50th anniversary. I have to say, the improved width of the bracelet, while only a few millimeters, makes a tremendous difference in fit, feel and wrist presence. I really do not experience any issues from additional weight of the bracelet.

I sure wish the reviewer wore the watch below the wrist bone ... That was a little off putting, but otherwise a good review

Yeah...looked like it wasn't even sized, it was so loose. I guess some people like it that way.
