I agree with you.......it's a horrible deal. Haven't seen it before either, but I normally don't look in the merchandise section, because I only redeem my AMEX points for gas cards. Dollar for dollar it's the best value IMHO. |

terrible deal at 1/2 a cent per point. I have gotten 11 cents per point in value previously by transferring to frequent flyer programs and redeeming for flights. I would never buy anything from AMEX with my points, even a Rolex. Thats a 182% difference in redemption rate
