1016 buyer questions

Just bought a ~1972 1016. No box or papers but really great looking. Patina seems to match. Two questions:

1). I can actually hear the movement "ticking" from a foot or so away in a totally quiet room. Is that normal? Much louder than the 214270.
2). Thinking of adding another 1016. What to look for to avoid fakes?

Thanks!

I have a 1972 1016. I can't hear it ticking unless it is next to my ear, but I can also tell my hearing is starting to go. I always tried to wear hearing protection, but a lifetime around firearms, rivet guns and rock concerts is taking its toll.
