Got THE Call...............my turn in the box
So now I get to see for myself what others have seen - a BNIB DSSD with my name on it at the AD................I have mixed feelings but am sure once I see it, touch it and feel it on the wrist...............I'll know.......... More to follow.................

Can't wait to hear how its grown attached to your wrist....
I try to take mine off and put on something else but he keeps fighting and ending up back on my wrist.

I wish there was an AD in San Diego that had one...I'm dying to see it...and try one on. But I wouldn't feel comfortable buying before trying.

My name was on the list since May... The months of anticipation set me up for a big shock when I saw it for the first time... My first reaction was: "I don't like it". I had to work hard to cover up the dissapointment from my AD that was kind enough to call me first and nobody else... I slept on the purchase overnight and went back in the morning. BAM! I loved it! I have not taken it off since... Now that I have worn it for a month... I am really surprised by my first reaction. The watch has a different balance than the Breitling I have a similar size. The biggest shock was maybe the thin bracelet... Only because I have grown accustomed to my 24mm clasp on the Breitling. But, a day on the arm and my perception changed. It seems just perfect!

Saw it and passed. I do like it, but not at MSRP. I will pick one up preowned or BNIB from a GM dealer and save myself some cash & tax.

I got the call Thursday and haven't bothered to go look. Maybe I will take my son for Dairy Queen at the mall and check it out today.
The math does not work out, though. For $10K I can keep my $4K Sea-Dweller and also go pick up another sport model, or even a 5513. The SDDSSD should be $7K like the GMTIIc. |

The economy is the biggest factor in the scenario... I cannot imagine evena SS Daytona running out the door at the $9700 msrp... The watch business just took a nosedive.

I'll be taking a long hard look at the new Sub when it comes out, but I think it will be priced with the GMT, and we will see 2 price increases by then. I'd call it $8K.
I'm seeing GMTIIc's, GMTII's and Explorer II's on the used market for great prices. |
