Only if my job were Grey Market Rolex Dealer, then I'd sell 'em and keep my job.

might have to sell one or two...

Thanks to the Internet, watches have become the new currency....almost as liquid as cash.....

I work hard so that I can keep my watches and buy new ones. In case I lose my job, the returns on my investments will tide me through. I am building on my investment portfolio in the midst of the financial market turmoil. I go against the grain. Am I mad?

That's why you save money

aside for any situation like that. No I don't think I will do so unless I run out of saving money.

I find this a timely question for me as i may be without a job by the end of the month. I only have the one Rolex so selling it would not sustain me for that long. So if i do have to sell, the SD will be THE LAST thing to go. Hell ,it took 5 years to save for it.

Of course I would sell if times were tough, it's a no brainer as you guys would say.

B.
I agree
If, for whatever reason, I needed money for my families well-being and I had no savings, then my watches would go in a heartbeat.
As much as I love Rolex - it's nowhere near as much as I love my family.

Another enthusiast on this site sent me an article from a local paper, the jewelry dealers were doing terrible, which we all know, the heart wrenching part of the article was that there was a woman who came to a dealer to sell the gold necklace around her neck for $32 so she could put gas in her car. So for some, an easy decision.

I will be losing my job at the end of December, as the company I'm with is being wound down. Fortunately for me, I have some reserves that will last me some months, which will allow me time to find another job. I don't think I'll have to sell any of my watches. However, if I had to sell them to support the wife and 4 kids, I will do it in a flash.

I can always buy again when times get better.

Food, clothing and shelter.

Not if I "loose" my job, but perhaps if I "lose" my job.
