Which is why I said "depending on diameter"

The watch appears real to me (based on the very poor photos). The bracelet is 18k non-PP. If you want a more original watch, sell the bracelet for scrap, you may wind up with enough to buy a PP strap and PP buckle.

Dial is PP and looks like it is developing a very nice even patina.

The watch would be either a 96 or 570.

Have a watchmaker pop off the back and take a few photos of the inside of the caseback and movement. This will give you a lot of information.

If this was your grandfathers, I doubt it is a fake!

Enjoy this family treasure.

Nope, this is genuine. ladies 18kt, manual winding. I found the same here. This is exactly the same. But mine is in a cheap watch strap at the moment. Awaiting a genuine croc.

Appreciate if anyone can tell me what this model is called. i actually don't get why it was thought to be a fake. when you look at the age of this it is very unlikely to be a fake. anyway would love to know the reasons. Thanks.

The link says it's quartz not manual winding, but regardless it's something I wish I could unsee.

If not fake, Patek probably would rather it be.

Thanks for all the opinions and information you guys gave to me. I was out in vacation, but very soon I will find out the reference number of my watch. I believe it is a real PP, but I will keep you informed...

If the bracelet's gold then you could scrap it and recover a significant portion of your cost.

When all's said and done, you'll have a $7k-10k watch (rough estimate) and more importantly an excellent remembrance of your grandfather. Most would be envious.

Thx Tony! Indeed, it is a great remembrance of him. He was a very good man and I am very proud to be his great son. Probably I will never sell...;-)

Marked "ref" 96 on back, as was guessed by several people.
