Thoughts on the 5930G?

I dig it. Though I'm not sure of the usefulness of the chronograph (30 mins max), and the lack of stop-seconds irks me since I can't set it perfectly.

Otherwise, I consider it an absolutely stunning piece.

Some truly lovely real-world shots here: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/th...me-chronograph

Would you buy it? Or is there another complicated chrono you'd choose over it?

Thanks!

I think is a beautiful watch, and I love the color. I usually prefer manual wining chronos, but it's hard to not like this reference

I'll bite lol.

I love it! If not getting a Perp Cal Chrono then this would be my next choice as far as Chrono complications. Don't get me wrong there are other very useful Chrono complicated pieces like the annual calendar but this is a marvel if you ask this noob high horology nut! I do like manual wound case backs a lot more and wouldn't own an auto Perp Cal Chrono just because of that but I can overlook that on a one of a kind watch like this.

I did, indeed. :) Including yours, which was loaded with more photos than I could ever want (thank you for that).

Thank you both for biting. :)

I completely agree. I do prefer Patek's manual winding chronos. And their Perp Cal Chronos are absolutely stunning.

This one is different. I dig it.

But I'm still not in love with it like I am with their Perp Cal Chronos, hence the hesitation.

That said, if it were any other watch (a Rolex, an Omega, a JLC, a VC, for instance) and I hesitated like this, I would consider that a pass since it's never a good idea to buy a watch you aren't "sold" on. But this one's a rare exception.

It is a beautiful reference. If only I could buy them all!

Beautiful, I feel the chrono is more for design than anything, but looks great, and who uses a chrono anyways, ok me when I had one for pasta and eggs, but any watch will do the trick, lovely watch

I was so close to buying and then decided against it. The chrono dial is so small... that is what finally did it for me. I can see why it is sought after but in the end.. I said NO

It's a vertical clutch and auto so the movement is nothing to look at but allows the use of the chrono for seconds without damaging the movement. I am indifferent to the chrono. Actually indifferent to all chrono and thus thus is part of my collection as a casual WT to complement my more formal 5130P

It's a fantastic watch, with two useful complications. Also love the guilloche. It's bordering on being too thick, but is just about OK.
